The Search button opens the Search Tool, which allows you to search for files on your computer.

To add a Search button to a panel, right-click on any vacant space on the panel. Choose Add to Panel, then choose Search for Files from the Add to Panel dialog. See Section 4.3.2 ― Adding an Object to a Panel for more on this.

To open the Search Tool, click on the Search button.
