Você pode usar o botão Mostrar Área de Trabalho para minimizar todas as janelas abertas e mostrar a área de trabalho.

To add a Show Desktop button to a panel, right-click on any vacant space on the panel. Choose Add to Panel, then choose Show Desktop from the Add to Panel dialog. See Seção 4.3.2 ― Adicionando um Objeto ao Painel for more on this.

To minimize all windows and show the desktop, click on the Show Desktop button. To restore all windows to their previous state, click it again.
